The last 7 days I’ve been encouraged, inspired, uplifted, loved and supported by my friends. From my boyfriend to my parents to my girl friends.

I was going through a challenging life experience and wanted to stay in a positive space. Being positive usually comes naturally for me, but this time I needed back-up! I knew the best way to get there and stay there was through my friends. Without missing a beat they were each there for me in their own ways. Some listened compassionately. While others shared their words of inspiration. One friend told me “Your only job is to tell your friends what you need from them.”  Another reminded me that I have an entire tool box with which to draw upon to move forward positively. While yet another gave me a card of warm words that came straight from the heart. I was even supported by some simply by knowing that their want was for me to be happy and true to myself. After all, that’s what friends are for.

Where would we be without our friends? They love us for who we truly are and encourage us to be everything we can. We create fabulous memories together and learn about ourselves and life in the process. A good friendship is a give and take but without anybody keeping score.

Even as we grow from children to teenagers to adults we always remember fondly the friends we have had. Our playmates as we grew up, our partners-in-crime through puberty and as adults hopefully friends that will last a lifetime. Each and every one of those friends have played a role in helping us become who we are.

Whether you and I were friends from years ago or you’re one of my dear friends of today I appreciate you beyond words! Thank you for sharing part of your life with me so that I could become the person I am today.  And thank you for the support and love that I know will be there in years to come!

Pass this post along to your friends and share in the celebration, love and appreciation of friendships!

“Each friend represents a world in us,
a world possibly not born until they arrive,
and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.”
