A Month of Meditation

Posted by on March 20, 2012 with 2 Comments

Meditation is something that I have done here and there over the last few years but I’ve never actually made it into a habit. So when one of my fabulous clients (check out her website Real Momma) mentioned she would like to start meditating more I jumped at the opportunity to join her. And since we are both connected to sharing life and it’s experiences with others, we decided to make it a public experience in hopes of not only supporting each other but others as well.

And what better day to kick off our commitment of 30 Days of Meditation than the first day of Spring! As things begin to shift in our environment so will things within ourselves.

Won’t you join us on our journey of truly implementing meditation into daily life? We would love to share in this experience with you! I believe the only way one will ever realize the full benefits of something is with continued, consistent and committed practice. And that’s what these 30 days are all about. It’s not about doing meditation “perfectly” or “right” because there is no absolute right or perfect way to meditate. It’s about calming your mind and your body, going within and connecting to your breath and your inner self. If you can commit to 5 minutes each day that’s great! If you would like to do more, go ahead and challenge yourself! This is your 30 Days of Meditation and you get to choose your plan of action.

Laura and I will be sharing our thoughts and experiences along the way and I encourage you to as well. It’s always nicer when doing something with a group of like-minded and supportive people.

Before I head outside to do my first meditation of the month I want to pass along a few things I came across online.

If you would like to read more about meditation in easy to understand words along with some videos I found this website How To Meditate. Their description of Why Learn To Meditate is definitely worth a quick and easy read.

And if you have never meditated before you may find this simple and short video helpful.

Wishing all of you a blissful Day 1 of your own personal Month of Meditation!

Reconnecting To Myself – Care To Join Me?

Posted by on October 30, 2011 with 0 Comments

I am so excited for November 1st! The fab yoga studio I go to is having one of its 30 day challenges. The students are encouraged to try to attend 30 yoga classes in 30 days. I participated in a similar challenge a few years ago. I was sick during one of the challenge weeks but I was still able to get in about 23 classes in 21 days. My body, mind and spirit reacted in such a positive way, a way that I had never before experienced. As you can imagine, I’m totally pumped to experience this challenge again!

Even before learning about the upcoming challenge, I had decided to start doing some body cleansing. Nothing hard core, just cleaning up my eating a bit and taking a natural body support and cleansing product. I’ve been doing it for the last 2 weeks but the cleaning up of my diet has been side-tracked with the opening of multiple boxes of Halloween chocolate bars. ;)

During the upcoming 30 days, along with the yoga challenge (I’m going to try to get in 30 classes), I’ve decided to really commit to my body cleansing and eliminate sugar, dairy, gluten and caffeine from my diet.

The more I thought about it, the more I started to get REALLY excited about November 1st and all of the amazing things I know I’ll be experiencing through out the month. Then I started thinking about how else I could support my re-connection with my mind, body and spirit.

I always love how I feel when I take even a few minutes during my day to meditate. Meditation can mean deep meditation, or calming my mind before bed, or even deep breathing in the middle of the day. I will be adding at least 5 minutes of meditation each day, in which ever form feels best. It’s a fabulous way to compliment my 30 days of yoga and healthy body actions!

Imagine how much life, energy, mental clarity, excitement and overall well-being I will be filled with come December 1st! What a way to end the year! Instead of going into the usual slump or funk of fall I will be vibrating with enthusiasm for myself and life! This is exactly how I want to end my year! From my own experiences, when you end a year on a high, that’s exactly where the next year begins. And it only gets better as the new year progresses!

Would you like to take action on November 1st with me? Are you ready to experience feeling alive at the end of your year rather than just coast through it the way you usually do? Is this the Novemer that you make things happen instead of just waiting for the new year to begin?

All it takes is making one change and doing it consistently. Maybe it will be something for your body, your mind or your spirit. Hey! Maybe it will be something for all three! Choose something that you will feel inspired to do rather than something that you feel like you “should” do. This is meant to be fun and fill you with excitement around the possibilities of how amazing you will feel!

I’m excited! I’m excited to appreciate and support my body. I know when I do this it will return the support ten fold! I’m excited to nurture and encourage the growth of my spirit and mind because I know that the sky is truly the limit on what they can do!

My life is going so wonderfully. Imagine how wonderful, amazing, unstoppable, creative, empowered, expansive, limitless, gorgeous (and a whole bunch of other exciting words!) it will be when I consciously and consistently choose to do even more for who I am!

Let’s end the year with a bang! Join me in reconnecting to yourself! All it takes is a choice, a commitment and one step at a time!

I’m So Excited!

Life is always keeping us on our toes. (And thank goodness for that!)
So when your normal routing and life are thrown for a loop,
how do you choose to experience it? Are you a Queen of Adaptation?
Or do you play the ever so popular role of the victim?

Give Yourself Permission…

Posted by on September 6, 2011 with 0 Comments

With the upcoming Fall season upon us, we often feel like we have to dive right into our new “back to school” schedule. Finally taking action on all of those goals and tasks you’ve been avoiding over the summer is a good thing. And so is making sure you give yourself permission to regroup and check in with yourself before you begin to move forward.

What’s Your Attitude?

Attitude > Alignment > Action
Attitude is the place to start before moving forward in anything.
So, what’s your attitude?

Make things happen by ALLOWING them to!

We all have our own busy lives. And, we all have things that we want to do, have or experience in our lives that aren’t happening. Many, if not most of these things don’t seem to be possible because of the busy-ness already going on in our day to day. The kids need to be fed, the laundry needs to be done, the job needs to be worked and the better half needs some lovin or support. *sigh* No wonder we feel defeated in our dreams before we really even start.

When we think of all of the fun, fabulous, exciting, lovely things that we want to do but aren’t doing we almost always (all ways) think of why we can’t have it or why it isn’t in our lives.

“I’m too busy.”

“It’s too expensive.” “

“I’m afraid somebody might thing I’m silly.”

“It’s not a necessity right now.”

Blah, blah, blah.

STOP! For the love of yourself just STOP!

Stop looking at all of the reasons why it’s not happening or why it “shouldn’t” happen. If you keep thinking and talking about why it isn’t here or why it can’t or shouldn’t be (and this is big yet oh so simple) IT WILL NEVER BE. Did you get that? If you keep giving your energy and your attention to it not being available to you, it never ever will be. Not until you change your tune.

So what’s a girl to do? I’m glad you asked. ;) Spend your time looking at all of the reasons why you WANT it in your life. Spend your time dreaming it up. See it, feel it, taste it, touch it…. experience it in your mind and your spirit.

Think about why you want it to happen. Forget “reality” and make it feel real! Believe it is possible one way or another. Believe you deserve it. Believe you are worthy of joy and happiness, love and success. You don’t have to figure out the steps and answers to how it will happen. Once you start practising the feelings of it as if it has already happened or is happening, you are allowing the Universe to show you the how. The answers will suddenly come to you along with the perfect opportunities to make it happen.

It is through our relaxed, loving and connected allowing of life, that living really, I mean REALLY happens.

“If you can dream it up, the Universe has the where-with-all to make it happen.” ~ Abraham

Now go ahead and dream. Dream big, dream juicy, dream bright, dream exciting… And stay there for as long as you can. Go back there as often as you can. And watch as these things begin to magically show up in your life. Oh such fun!
