“Tis the season to be jolly…”

As November ends you can feel the spirit of the holidays everywhere. For many, the scrooge spirit of the holidays tends to be more dominant than the spirit of joy.

I was getting a warm bevie at one of the local Starbucks the other day. The always delightful server was telling me that people are already complaining about the holidays and about all of the things they have to do. He couldn’t believe they had lost the true spirit of the holidays already. (more…)

Live your life on purpose

Posted by on November 14, 2010 with 2 Comments

“It seems to me that searching for our purpose is like searching for happiness. There’s no way to happiness; happiness is the way. And so it is with living your life on purpose. It’s not something you find; it’s how you live your life serving others, and bringing purpose to everything you do.”

“Affirm that in an intelligent system, no one shows up by accident, including you. The universal mind of intention is responsible for all of creation. It knows what it’s doing. You came from that mind, and you’re infinitely connected to it. There’s meaning in your existence, and you have the capacity to live from a perspective of purpose. The first step is to know that you’re here on purpose. This is not the same as knowing what you’re supposed to do. Throughout your life, what you do will change and shift. In fact, the changes can occur from hour to hour in each day of your life. Your purpose is not about what you do, it’s about your beingness, that place within you from which your thoughts emerge. This is why you’re called a human being rather than a human doing! Affirm in your own words, both in writing and in your thoughts, that you are here on purpose, and intend to live from this awareness at all times.”

November 12 is Random Acts of Kindness Day!

Everyday is only as good as the good we can see and believe in ourselves and others. By doing kind acts it helps you to see good in yourself and bring the good out in others.  ~ Author Unknown

Even though this time of year feels like a bit of a limbo before the holiday season begins, there are still things going on to encourage us to take action.

November 12 is Random Acts of Kindness day in Windsor and Essex County as well as London, Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, Brantford, Niagara and Orillia.

The simple act of doing something nice for somebody else has very powerful results both for you and for those you are helping. To me the “random” part is about offering to another without expecting anything in return. There’s no catch. When you give of yourself freely you can never be disappointed by the outcome. (more…)

It’s the little things

Posted by on November 2, 2010 with 6 Comments

This morning, as I took a moment to reflect about what truly makes me happy, I realized that what I thought about the most were the little things. The unexpected things, the sometimes take for granted every day things, the random things…
Here are a few of my favourite little things. They made me smile when they happened in my life and they make me smile everytime I think of them. (more…)
